Metallica to celebrate Halloween with first U.S. show since 1983 at Las Vegas Sphere

Metallica is playing Las Vegas Sphere on Halloween. How much are tickets?

Get your Lars Ulrich costumes ready, Metallica fans. On Halloween, Saturday, October 31, the legendary rock band will perform at Las Vegas’ Sphere, marking their first U.S. Halloween show since 1983. This event is part of their ongoing Life Burns Faster residency, a unique arrangement where they play two different concerts each weekend without repeating any songs.

If you want to witness James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo live in action, last-minute tickets are still available. Prices start at $603, including fees, on Vivid Seats. For those wanting a closer experience, floor-level seats are priced at $1,116 and up.

The Halloween concert is the second of two performances during the Halloweekend. Metallica's residency at the Sphere is structured as "No Repeat" gigs, ensuring that each concert offers a completely different setlist. Saturday shows typically feature crowd favorites such as “Enter Sandman,” “One,” “For Whom the Bell Tolls,” “The Unforgiven,” and “Fuel.” Night one performances include classics like “Master of Puppets,” “Seek & Destroy,” “Sad But True,” and “Ride the Lightning.”

Reviews of previous shows from high-profile publications have praised the visual spectacle of the performances. Riff Magazine described the experience as “a combination of crisp graphics, immersive mini-movies and larger-than-life projections of the band members,” likening it to an IMAX movie on a grander scale. The publication noted the powerful combination of soaring vocals, wailing guitar riffs, and pounding percussion anchored by a sea of constantly moving images.

Metallica's current residency in Las Vegas coincides with their promotion of their latest album, “72 Seasons,” which was released on April 14, 2023. The album has received attention for its relentless energy, featuring standout tracks like “Sleepwalk My Life Away,” “You Must Burn!,” and “Lux Æterna.” The band’s commitment to high-octane performances and innovative staging continues to captivate audiences.

In addition to their Las Vegas residency, Metallica is preparing to help Uncasville, Connecticut's Mohegan Sun Arena celebrate its 25th anniversary in November. This will be their first performance in Connecticut since July 1998, when they headlined at Hartford's Meadows Music Theater during their 'Poor Re-Touring Me Tour.'

For fans unable to attend the Halloween show, Metallica's recent performances have left an impact. On October 1, the band opened with “Battery,” marking its first appearance as an opener since 2014. The setlist also included “Creeping Death,” “Now That We’re Dead,” and concluded with “Master of Puppets.”

The previous performance on October 3 featured “Blackened” as the opener, alongside “Fuel,” “Devil’s Dance,” and “For Whom the Bell Tolls.” The band continues to surprise audiences with deep cuts and fan favorites, reflecting their extensive catalog and commitment to live performance.

With ticket sales still underway and the excitement building, this Halloween show promises to be an unforgettable event. The Las Vegas Sphere, with its state-of-the-art technology and immersive experience, provides a fitting backdrop for Metallica's iconic sound and high-energy performances.

As fans gear up for the show, the anticipation is palpable. Metallica's unique approach to their residency not only keeps fans engaged but also revitalizes their legendary status in the rock scene. For those planning to attend, this Halloween concert is poised to be a remarkable night of heavy metal history.
