California’s Baker Beach has been named America’s most popular nude beach, topping a new ranking based on Google search data and Tripadvisor ratings.

The beach averaged more than 1.1 million searches over the past 12 months and holds a Tripadvisor rating of 4.5, according to travel company Hoppa.

Baker Beach offers views of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, giving visitors a look at one of America's best-known landmarks.

Florida’s Haulover Beach came second with 866,000 searches and a matching 4.5 rating.

The Miami spot is one of America’s best-known clothing-optional beaches and draws visitors from around the world.

“Visiting a clothing-optional beach isn’t just about stripping off,” Chris Harrington, managing director of Hoppa, told the Post.

“It’s about the sense of liberation and freedom that comes with the experience.”

Third place went to Black’s Beach in San Diego, California, with 817,000 searches and a 4.4 rating. Its cliffs and long coastline have made it a favorite among West Coast nudists for years.

Hawaii claimed three spots on the list.

Secret Beach in Kauai ranked fourth with 474,400 searches and a 4.6 rating. Maui’s Red Sand Beach came seventh with 259,800 searches and a 4.6 rating.

Kehena Beach in Hawaii’s Puna District finished ninth with 141,800 views and a 4.3 rating.

Florida’s Playalinda Beach took fifth place with 463,700 searches and a 4.5 rating.

The beach sits within the Canaveral National Seashore near Titusville on the east coast. It is known for its undeveloped shoreline and is a popular spot for watching rocket launches from the nearby Kennedy Space Center.

Blind Creek Beach, on Hutchinson Island between Fort Pierce and Jensen Beach, took 10th place with 134,300 searches. The designated clothing-optional beach is surrounded by a 400-acre coastal preserve.

New Jersey’s Gunnison Beach on the Sandy Hook peninsula held sixth place with 273,600 searches.

Oregon’s Rooster Rock State Park in Corbett came eighth with 189,900 searches.

Harrington said nude beaches remain popular, despite assumptions that their heyday has passed.

“They’re often associated with the naturist movement of the 70’s, but their appeal continues well into 2026, where clothing-optional beaches remain popular with travelers looking to try something new,” he said.

“If your curiosity is piqued and you’re feeling adventurous, why not give it a go?”
