Ghanaian social media personality and former AIDS ambassador, Joyce Dzidzor Mensah, has publicly criticized comedian Funny Face for allegedly neglecting his “bipolar family” following his close association with actor Kwaku Manu.
In a video shared on May 8, 2025, Mensah expressed concern over Funny Face’s reliance on Kwaku Manu, cautioning him to remember his past struggles with mental health and not to become overly dependent on others.
Mensah, who has been open about her own experiences with bipolar disorder, reminded Funny Face of the importance of self-reliance and staying connected to those who have shared similar challenges. She emphasized that while seeking support is beneficial, it’s crucial not to forget one’s roots and the community that understands the journey.
“Ever since you became close with Kwaku Manu, you don’t remember bipolar people again… You have to always remember your family, no matter what. That’s the family you come from,” Mensah stated.
Funny Face, known offstage as Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, has faced public battles with mental health, including a diagnosis of bipolar disorder. His recent transformation, attributed in part to Kwaku Manu’s support, has been widely covered in the media.
Mensah’s comments have sparked discussions on social media, with some supporting her viewpoint and others defending Funny Face’s right to move forward with his life.
