Reality TV star Kash, 29, shot and killed in Oakland; investigation underway

Prayers Up! ‘Real West Coast Baddies’ Star Kash Dies At 29 Following California Shooting

Mackayla “Kash” Paige was shot and killed early Sunday morning in downtown Oakland, California, at the age of 29. The tragic incident occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. on the 200 block of 14th Street, near the Cave Lounge, as confirmed by local news outlet KTVU.

Police responded to reports of gunfire and found Kash with a gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. The Oakland Police Department's Homicide Division is currently investigating the shooting. An unidentified woman has been arrested in connection with the incident, although details surrounding the circumstances leading to the shooting have not been disclosed.

Friends and family gathered at the scene on Sunday to mourn the loss of the reality television star, best known for her appearances on “Real West Coast Baddies” and “RoomH8z.” Nicky Clayton, her cousin, expressed disbelief over the tragedy, saying she had been with family just before the shooting. “She was chilling. She was with family. So she supposed to be good. I don’t know what transpired, but I know she’s supposed to be here,” he told KTVU.

Kash’s friend, Poodahh, shared her memories of the late star. “Oh my God, she was so fun,” Poodahh said. “She pushes me to be better every day. She sees when I’m not giving it my all, and she pushes me to be what she knows I could be.” Poodahh’s poignant words reflected the impact Kash had on her friends and the community.

The shooting has sent shockwaves through the reality TV landscape, raising questions about safety and the violence that sometimes accompanies fame. Kash was not just a participant in these shows; she was an aspiring entrepreneur with dreams of starting her own business. Clayton noted that she wanted to be famous and was actively modeling for various companies while expressing an interest in makeup.

Kash's death marks yet another tragic chapter in the lives of reality TV stars, many of whom find themselves navigating the complexities of public life under intense scrutiny. The Oakland Police Department is urging anyone with information, photographs, or video related to the shooting to contact them at (510) 238-3821 or (510) 238-7950. They have also set up an email address for tips at cidvideos@oaklandca.gov.

As the investigation unfolds, the reality TV community mourns a life cut short and reflects on the dangers that can lurk behind the glitz and glamour of fame. Kash's vibrant spirit and aspirations resonate in the memories shared by those who knew her, leaving behind a void that will be felt deeply by friends and family alike.
