Paul Adom-Otchere Claims Dampare Paid Dollars to Jubilee House Insiders to Retain IGP Position

Paul Adom-Otchere, host of Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana, has made serious allegations against former Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, claiming he paid thousands of dollars to two high-ranking officials at Jubilee House to secure his position.

The claims, aired on March 13, 2025, come just hours before President John Dramani Mahama relieved Dampare of his post on the same day.

Adom-Otchere alleges that a man named Listowell confronted the officials, questioning their acceptance of the alleged payments, knowing Dampare’s dismissal was imminent.

He further raised concerns about the source of the funds, stating, “Where is Dr. Dampare getting the money from?” The broadcaster has promised to provide more details in the future but did not disclose the identities of the officials involved.

These allegations remain unproven, and no official response has been issued by Dampare or Jubilee House.

The claims have sparked widespread debate, with some questioning Adom-Otchere’s credibility, given his history of controversial statements. Meanwhile, President Mahama appointed COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno as the new IGP, signaling a shift in police leadership amid ongoing political transitions.

The public awaits further evidence to substantiate these serious accusations, which could have significant implications for Ghana’s governance and anti-corruption efforts.
