Two old students of Achimota School, Davida Asante Boateng and Lilian Akorli, have tragically lost their lives after being struck by a vehicle on Friday, March 7, 2025.
According to an official statement from the Old Achimotan Association (OAA24), the two young women had attended the annual bonfire night at their alma mater and were returning to the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) when the incident occurred.
The statement indicated that Davida and Lilian were crossing the Achimota Highway when they were hit by a black Toyota Corolla. The driver of the vehicle did not stop to offer assistance and fled the scene. However, good Samaritans who arrived shortly after the accident rushed the victims to the hospital at around 12:02 a.m. in an attempt to save their lives.
Unfortunately, Davida Asante Boateng was pronounced dead at 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 8. Lilian Akorli, who battled for her life for several hours, also succumbed to her injuries later that morning.
The Old Achimotan Association expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of the two young ladies. The association extended its heartfelt condolences to their grieving families and pledged to support them through this difficult time.
