A former congregant of Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, widely known as Nana Agradaa, has opened up about her difficult experience after leaving the Heaven Way Champion International Ministry.
The woman, whose identity was not revealed, shared how she was mistreated despite being a loyal member and giving money to support the church.
Speaking in a video shared online, the former churchgoer recalled that she contributed GHC 300, money she described as her last, to the church in the belief that she was sowing into her spiritual growth. Instead, she says she faced ridicule and rejection soon after deciding to leave the congregation.
“They said I was ungrateful. But I gave my last GHC 300. I was loyal,” she said with emotion. “Even after I left, people insulted me like I did something wrong.”
She claims she received no support or empathy during a difficult personal time, which contributed to her decision to leave the church. According to her, those who once celebrated her presence in the ministry turned on her quickly once she stopped attending.
The woman’s story is one of several that have emerged as questions continue to swirl around Nana Agradaa’s ministry practices. Formerly a traditional priestess before converting to Christianity and rebranding as a preacher, Agradaa has long courted controversy, including past accusations of fraud.
Though she continues to lead a sizable congregation and commands a significant following on social media, stories like this one have added to the growing scrutiny surrounding her leadership.
Reactions online have been mixed. While some continue to defend the evangelist, others have expressed concern about how ex-members are treated and the pressure placed on congregants to contribute financially.
The former church member emphasized that her reason for speaking out was not to seek revenge but to raise awareness. “I want people to know what really happens. Not everything is as it looks on the outside,” she said.
