Choirmaster Blames Former Manager Kiki Banson for Collapse of Praye Music Group

Eugene Baah, widely known as Choirmaster and formerly one-third of the popular Ghanaian music group Praye, has attributed the group’s collapse to the actions of their former manager, Kiki Banson.

In a recent media interview, Choirmaster stated that the group began falling apart due to what he described as poor managerial decisions by Banson during their active years.

According to him, the manager’s underperformance was a significant factor in the eventual breakup of the trio.

Praye gained national fame in the early 2000s after winning the Nescafe African Revelation competition. The group — originally made up of Praye Tietia, Praye Tintin, and Choirmaster — went on to release several hit songs and was one of the most dominant forces in Ghana’s hiplife and Afrobeat scene during that era.

Tensions within the group became public over time, culminating in a full split. Although the trio attempted a reunion in 2018, the effort was short-lived. The group’s inactivity in recent years has led to ongoing speculation among fans and the media about what caused the decline.

Choirmaster’s recent remarks mark one of the clearest statements yet from a group member pointing directly at former management as the root cause of their issues.

Kiki Banson, who has managed several notable acts in Ghana’s entertainment industry, has not yet responded to the claims.
