Nigerian actor Jim Iyke joined a host of Ghanaian film and media personalities to support Beverly Afaglo at the private screening of her new movie, Pimp’s Paradise: Prostitutes’ Prison.
The exclusive event, held in Accra, marked a major moment for Beverly, who took to social media after the screening to express her deep gratitude for the overwhelming show of love.
Also present at the screening were Bill Asamoah, Caroline Sampson, Roselyn Ngissah, Andy Dosty, Papa Bills, AJ Poundz, Rabby Bray, Okyeame Kwame, Eddie Nartey, Harold Amenyah, Anthony Woode, and Diamond Appiah, among others.
Beverly’s emotional thank-you message highlighted the industry’s unexpected but heartfelt support:
“For those who always said there’s no love and support in the industry, today I say it’s a big fat lie. Industry playas showed me love… I don’t have the words to express how grateful I am. I am eternally grateful.”
She also praised bloggers and media platforms like Zionfelix, King Bygone, Nkonkonsa, SammyKay Media, TV3, ADOM TV, and Joy Prime for showing up and helping promote the film without any payment.
“I didn’t pay anybody a penny,” she wrote, singling out Zionfelix as the “real MVP.”
Even those who couldn’t make it to the screening but helped promote the film online were acknowledged, including Juliet Ibrahim, Lydia Forson, Naa Ashorkor, Yvonne Okoro, and Salma Mumin.
Directed to provoke conversation and push boundaries, Pimp’s Paradise tackles tough realities around sex work and survival, shedding light on issues often overlooked in Ghanaian storytelling. The film officially premieres on August 1st at Silverbird Cinemas, Accra Mall.
As Beverly steps boldly into this new chapter of her film journey, the show of support from peers, press, and fans suggests that Pimp’s Paradise is more than a movie—it’s a movement.
