Ghanaian musician Patapaa has fired back at rising artist Takum after being referenced in his latest track.
Takum, who recently teamed up with dancehall star Shatta Wale on the remix of “Don’t Fall in Love,” dropped a controversial line that has sparked heated reactions. In the song, Takum raps that “ladies see him as Patapaa when he has no money, but as Van Vicker when he has money.”
The comparison didn’t sit well with Patapaa, who is best known for his viral hit “One Corner.” In a video shared on his official TikTok page, Patapaa went on a rant, blasting the young musician for dragging his name into such lyrics.
According to Patapaa, the statement was not only disrespectful but also damaging to his reputation. He warned Takum to retract or face legal action, revealing plans to serve him with a court letter.
Patapaa’s reaction has since stirred conversation online, with fans split between calling it a harmless punchline and others defending the Swedru-based artist’s decision to stand up for his image.
For now, Takum has yet to officially respond to Patapaa’s outburst, but the controversy has already added more buzz to his collaboration with Shatta Wale.
