Aerosmith to host two special concerts in LA featuring Guns N’ Roses and 19 other acts

Aerosmith announces two LA shows with Guns N Roses, more. Get tickets

Aerosmith is set to light up Los Angeles with two highly anticipated concerts featuring a lineup that includes Guns N’ Roses, Run-DMC, and Billy Idol. Dubbed “California, Dream On: Aerosmith & Friends,” the shows will take place at the Hollywood Bowl on October 29 and November 1, 2023. The announcement follows the cancellation of much of Aerosmith's 2023-24 farewell tour due to Steven Tyler's ongoing vocal injury.

The Hollywood Bowl will host a star-studded lineup, with a total of 19 acts confirmed to join the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers. Alongside Guns N’ Roses and Billy Idol, fans can expect performances from Heart, The Black Crowes, Eric Church, Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine, and Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Jerry Cantrell from Alice In Chains will also be on the bill, adding to the allure of the two-day event.

Tickets for these concerts will go on sale to the general public on Saturday, October 10, at 10 a.m. PT via Ticketmaster. However, they are already available on secondary market sites like Vivid Seats, which offer a buyer guarantee to ensure safe transactions.

The concerts come after a series of performances this year where Aerosmith showcased their enduring appeal. In a review from Iron City Rocks following a September 6, 2023, show in Pittsburgh, the energy of the band was described as unexpected for a group that debuted in the 1970s. The review noted, “There was no drop-off in energy… This Aerosmith was frankly better.”

While the setlist for the upcoming shows remains unconfirmed, Set List FM reports that Aerosmith typically performs around 18 to 20 tracks per concert. Fan favorites like “Dream On,” “Walk This Way,” “Cryin’,” “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing,” and “Sweet Emotion” are likely to make an appearance.

The forthcoming concerts not only give fans a chance to see Aerosmith live but also highlight the enduring legacy of classic rock. The roster of supporting acts, including big names like Sammy Hagar and Chad Smith, emphasizes the camaraderie and shared history among these artists.

Aerosmith's journey has been marked by ups and downs, particularly with Tyler's vocal issues forcing the band to cancel numerous tour dates. Despite these setbacks, the decision to host two special concerts in Los Angeles signals a commitment to engage with fans and deliver memorable performances.

With a lineup that boasts both classic rock legends and contemporary stars, the “California, Dream On” concerts promise an unforgettable experience. As fans prepare for the shows, excitement builds around what could be one of Aerosmith's last opportunities to perform together in such a grand setting.

The October and November dates at the Hollywood Bowl may very well become a highlight in the fall concert calendar, drawing fans from across the globe. As the rock veterans prepare to take the stage, anticipation swells for what could be a remarkable celebration of music history.
