The Black Queens of Ghana arrived home to a warm welcome after finishing third at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) held in Morocco.
Crowds gathered at Kotoka International Airport to celebrate the team’s achievement, marking Ghana’s best WAFCON performance in over a decade.
The Black Queens clinched the bronze medal after a 2-1 victory over Nigeria in the third-place playoff match.

espite falling short in the semifinals against host nation Morocco, the team rebounded effectively to secure a spot on the podium.

The Ghana Football Association and Ministry of Youth and Sports have acknowledged the team’s efforts, with discussions reportedly underway about further investment in infrastructure and youth development programs.
