A disturbing video from the funeral of the late Mamponghene, Daasebre Nana Osei Bonsu II, has gone viral online and sparked heated discussions online.
A moment meant to honor a respected chief turned chaotic when Ghanaian mogul Nana Kwame Bediako, aka Cheddar, showed up at the funeral of the late Mamponghene, Daasebre Nana Osei Bonsu II, only for one of his bodyguards to throw punches at a mourner, and the moment was caught on camera.
The funeral, held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, in Mampong, was packed with royals, dignitaries, celebrities, and thousands of mourners. Cheddar’s arrival was as flashy as expected, luxury vehicle, high-end attire, and a security team that looked ready for battle. But as he made his way into the venue, chaos erupted.
A video sighted by Ghanaian Blogger, King Bygone, now making rounds online shows one of Cheddar’s guards aggressively confronting a man who appeared to be following too closely behind the entourage. Without warning, the guard landed two solid punches to the man’s chest, sending him stumbling back in shock and pain. The bodyguard then calmly resumed position next to Cheddar, as if nothing had happened.
Netizens were quick to react. “This is a funeral, not a boxing match,” one Twitter user wrote, while others questioned the necessity of such force. Some defended the guard’s actions, citing security concerns, but most condemned the aggression as unnecessary and disrespectful during a cultural ceremony.
As of now, Cheddar has not addressed the incident. The identity of the man who was assaulted remains unknown, and no official statement has been released.
