The Eastern North Regional Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the theft of a Hyundai Santa Fe SUV, worth over GH₵250,000, which they attempted to sell for a meager GH₵15,000.
The stolen vehicle, with registration number GG 2–18, was taken from a washing bay at Kuntunse Satellite in Accra on 24th April 2025.
Acting swiftly, police apprehended two of the suspects, Kwabena Tawiah and Kwadwo Asiedu, at a hotel in Nkawkaw.
Their confession led officers to the third suspect, Dennis Debra, alias Kapun, who was picked up from his hideout in Pemenase, Ashanti Region.
Investigations revealed that Tawiah and Asiedu sold the high-end SUV to Kapun for just GH₵15,000, of which only GH₵2,000 had been paid at the time of arrest.
A search on Kapun led to the recovery of the ignition key.
The suspects, along with the recovered vehicle, have since been transferred to Accra to assist with further investigations.
Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious vehicle deals.
