The Ghana Police Service has arrested a suspect in connection with the theft of a vehicle belonging to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Tarkwa, Western Region.
According to a statement issued by the Police on April 23, 2025, the suspect, identified as Salifu Gariba, was apprehended by officers of the Northern Regional Police Command on April 16, 2025, at Kukobila along the Tamale-Bolgatanga highway.
The stolen vehicle, a Toyota Land Cruiser with registration number GS 1845-23, was successfully recovered during the arrest.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the vehicle was stolen in the early hours of April 15, 2025, from the residence of an EPA employee at Budo City, a suburb of Tarkwa.
Authorities believe the theft was carefully planned, and efforts are ongoing to determine whether the suspect acted alone or was part of a larger network.
Salifu Gariba is currently in police custody and will be processed through the legal system in accordance with due procedure.
