Ghanaian dancehall sensation Livingstone Etse Satekla, popularly known as Stonebwoy, has recently earned a Master of International Relations and Diplomacy (MIRD) degree from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) in Accra.

However, Stonebwoy’s academic achievement has not been without controversy.

Some critics have questioned the legitimacy of his degree, suggesting that his celebrity status may have influenced his academic journey. In response, Stonebwoy has firmly denied these allegations, emphasizing the rigorous academic standards at GIMPA and asserting that he earned his degree through dedication and hard work.

Stonebwoy’s accomplishment has also garnered praise from various quarters. Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, a leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), lauded Stonebwoy for being a positive role model to Ghanaian youth, highlighting his determination to pursue education alongside his music career.

This development has sparked a broader conversation about the intersection of celebrity and academia in Ghana. While some view Stonebwoy’s achievement as an inspiration, others raise concerns about potential disparities in academic standards for public figures.

As the debate continues, Stonebwoy’s journey serves as a focal point for discussions on education, celebrity influence, and the pursuit of personal development in the public eye.
