Police officers clashed with a group of macho men on Tuesday when they attempted to force their way into the coalition center in Akwatia.
A video by Virgin Blogger, sighted by journalist King Bygone, showed the men arriving in large numbers and trying to push through security barriers before being confronted by police. The standoff was brief, and officers eventually dispersed the group, restoring calm.
Authorities said the coalition center remained secure, and electoral materials were not disrupted. “Our priority is to ensure safety and the integrity of the process,” a police spokesperson stated.
No injuries or arrests have yet been confirmed, though police say investigations are ongoing to identify those behind the attempted breach.
