Daddy Lumba’s Family Confirms His Passing After Short Illness

The family of legendary Ghanaian musician Charles Kojo Fosu, affectionately known as Daddy Lumba, has officially confirmed his passing.

A statement released on Saturday, July 26, 2025, by the Fosu family described his death as a moment of “profound sorrow and deep grief.”

According to the release, Daddy Lumba passed away earlier that day after a short illness, at the age of 60.

“Daddy Lumba was more than a musician; he was a cultural icon whose music touched countless lives,” the family noted. “His soulful voice provided the soundtrack to our love stories, and his poignant lyrics captured the poetry of our struggles, dreams, and resilience.”

The statement, signed by Fati Ali Yallah, Esq., counsel for the Fosu family at Baba Jamal & Associates, emphasized the family’s request for privacy during this time of mourning.

Details about the funeral and memorial arrangements are expected to be communicated in the coming days.
