Island Frimpong, the daughter of Ghanaian rapper Medikal and actress Fella Makafui, is winning hearts again, this time not on stage or in a viral video, but with her tiny hands deep in the soil at Yvonne Nelson International School.
Wearing her school’s signature white and blue uniform, Island joined her classmates in a hands-on tree-planting activity guided by their teachers.
The children listened attentively as they learned about the importance of environmental care, then eagerly got to work.
Island, alongside a female classmate and a teacher, planted her own tree, earning loud applause from peers and staff who were visibly impressed by her enthusiasm and effort.
The moment was more than just a school project. It was a gentle reminder that even the youngest among us can play a role in shaping a greener future. The video, shared by the school on Instagram, quickly gained traction online, with many praising the initiative and Island’s involvement.
This isn’t the first time Island has captured public attention.
After graduating from Just Like Mama Day Care in 2024, she enrolled at Yvonne Nelson’s school and has since made waves—whether it’s reciting a self-written poem at her graduation or dressing up as a doctor for Career Day.
Despite her parents’ ongoing divorce saga, Island continues to shine in her own right. Her tree-planting moment is just another chapter in a growing story of a young girl learning, thriving, and inspiring others, one seed at a time.
