Praye has never Supported NPP – Choirmaster ‘Praye Honeho’

The legendary Ghanaian hiplife trio Praye has long been a household name, but their rumored political affiliations have stirred fresh controversy.

Known for hits that once united fans, the group, comprising Eugene Baah (Choirmaster, Praye Honeho), Steven Fiawoo (Praye Tiatia), and Nana Kwame (Praye Tenten), now finds itself at the center of a divisive narrative linking them to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Some fans and critics have boldly claimed Praye’s music and members openly back the former ruling party, but Choirmaster is pushing back hard.

In a fiery interview spotted by Ghanaian blogger King Bygone and hosted by DJ Pakorich, Eugene Baah, widely known as Choirmaster or Praye Honeho, tackled the rumors head-on. “Praye has never supported the NPP as a group,” he declared, dismissing the notion as a misrepresentation fueled by individual actions.

“What you saw was some members’ personal choices, not the group’s stance.” He admitted that certain Praye members have indeed aligned with the NPP, but he’s not one of them. “People tag me as NPP because of this confusion, but I’m not affiliated”

The statement has reignited debates about Praye’s unity and political leanings, especially given past tensions within the group.

While Praye Tiatia has been vocal about NPP ties in previous contexts, Choirmaster’s insistence on his neutrality draws a stark line.

Fans are split—some see it as a principled stand, others as a convenient dodge. As Ghana’s political landscape heats up, Praye’s legacy risks being overshadowed by this saga. Will the broom of unity hold, or is this another crack in their storied bond? Choirmaster’s words have lit the fuse—now, the fallout awaits.
