At 15, Natalie Fort finished ninth out of 40 at Miss Princess of the World in the Czech Republic. At 20 she was reading the news on TV3. This week, at 31, she is in Cairo as an ambassador for one of Africa’s largest business gatherings.

The GHOne TV anchor announced that she has been appointed an ambassador for the 2026 Global Entrepreneurship Festival, which runs in the Egyptian capital from 6 to 8 November. Organisers expect more than 10,000 participants from over 70 countries. Natalie Fort is representing GHOne and its parent company, EIB Network.

From Natalie Twum to Natalie Fort

She was born Natalie Ofosua Twum on 24 July 1995. “Fort” started as a nickname from her mother, Joyce Twum, and became the name viewers know. She attended Ghana International School and Merton International School, studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London, and is an alumna of Accra Film School.

Before broadcasting came modelling. She started at 13, walked at Ghana Fashion Week in Accra in 2009, and later founded Fort Model Management.

The TV3 years

Fort joined TV3 in 2015. Within a year she was anchoring News 360, the station’s prime-time bulletin, while also working on the international news desk and hosting Women’s Take on 3FM. She has anchored coverage of three Ghanaian general elections.

On 5 April 2021 she resigned and crossed to EIB Network, where GHOne general manager Nana Aba Anamoah announced her arrival. At GHOne she reads the news, covers foreign affairs and fronts The Natalie Fort Show, which won TV Development Show of the Year at the 2023 RTP Awards.

Beyond the studio

The Cairo role fits a profile she has built off-screen. She runs the Fort Foundation, which supports needy patients at selected hospitals in Accra, and a coaching and mentorship programme for young African women. She was named among the MIPAD 100 Under 40 in 2022, and her earlier recognitions include the Excellent Personality Merit Award in 2017.

Her G100 profile also lists her as the group’s Global Chair for Media, Arts and Communication, and notes an ambassador role with the festival’s 2025 edition.

What the festival is

The Global Entrepreneurship Festival is being held under the auspices of Egypt’s prime minister, with investors, start-up founders and policymakers on the programme. For a Ghanaian broadcaster, an ambassador seat means visibility in a room where African business deals are made, and a stream of interviews to bring home to GHOne viewers.

Fort’s appointment drew congratulations from colleagues and fans when she shared the news. The festival opens on Friday.
